Time to take the brakes off

Time to take the brakes off

So many businesses have the brakes on at the minute and seem to be waiting for something to happen. Yes we know the world is a disaster and yes there is a budget next week and yes there have been recent downward additional costs on businesses, but one thing is for sure if you do nothing, you get nothing.

So many companies I have spoken to recently are saying that both existing and potential customers are delaying making decisions to sign work off and whilst in many cases these are relatively small projects, they are still key in keeping the wheels turning.

With so much implied uncertainty around, supply chains clog up, customers don’t buy and hence suppliers delay their own decisions and so it goes down the line.

It really has a whiff of the last recession back in 2008.There doesn’t seem to be a silver bullet, but one thing is for sure, those that do nothing about it will get nothing.

As they say “always do what you’ve always done and always get what you’ve always got."

It can be difficult to see a clear way forward or for that matter a different way when everywhere you seem to look presents bumps in the road.

We all know about working on in addition to working in the business, but that is easier said than done, to free up time to step back and take a look.

The majority of businesses have not ever considered external support and yet research from the Association of Business Mentors shows that:

·      64% of businesses report productivity gains, revenues and profits

·      70% of businesses state it has had made operational improvements

·      93% of leaders agree it improves their strategic decision making

An experienced outside view can in many cases highlight things and support actions that many businesses are just too close to see.

It isn’t about doing the do, but to develop a framework which provides a clearer picture for you and your team to be able to carry out your roles in a more product and efficient way.

Just think for a minute, would any of the following help or add value to your business.

·      Tap into additional experience and knowledge

·      Improve your overall business strategy and decision making

·      Have greater confidence to overcome challenges

·      Expand your professional network and be introduced to other useful contacts

·      Have e set of focused goals and feel you are moving forward

Is it time to take the brakes off, stop waiting for the inevitable and really fulfil your potential.

Spare an hour and see if a flexible approach could work for you.

It’s okay to fall out of love with your business — let’s get things back on track.
